New views for the
Religio- Phobic So many now hate or distrust religion. its a view that's been embraced for many good reasons. The sad part may be that in throwing out all organized faiths completely, we may well limit our own-- and the world's spiritual connection. I propose that not all believers in faith and religion are dogmatic suckers. In fact, some religious people are way more spiritual than those who profess only to spirituality as distinguished from religion. Just for me, I say be wary, for to judge anything or any person may be shutting out the true spark of truth. For those who feel that religion may have little to offer that is not wholly tained by misdirection, mis-control, misuse of power, greed and the like, this page may offer some alternate views and what may be some respite in at least one faith that meets matters from an unusual tack. Many more chuches are now amending themselves, adjusting outworn teachings and practices to create a new path. Baha'i Learnings for our World Unity-- A Watchword for Healing
Unity is an overwhelming proposition for our planet.
The Baha'i prophecies put forth unity as a key to healing for our time. Unity is their watchword, a major focus of their energy, study and sharing. The prophet Baha'u'llah came for unity and the knowledge of the oneness of God, all religions, and all humanity. |

Unity is, Baha'i's believe, is the most important issue facing us today.
Without it , there is little hope for us on earth.
With unity, all our world's problems could be solved...
Unity, the Baha'i's say, is the key and necessary piece that can enable us to fully meet the challenges of today's need for a just unity that allows plenty of room for diversity. A major paradigm shift, on both large and small levels, is required for the integration of unity into a truly new international pattern. The Baha'is believe that such a shift cannot and will not come about on the shoulders of human effort alone; a powerful, spiritual or emotional influence must needs play a vital role, and must be introduced in a compelling, thoughtful, inclusive way. It may be that this emerging Faith, with its global and practical experience, powerful teachings and connection to the Spirit, has the vitality, motivation, and inspiration to bring something that is needed to the table of peace. Other faiths may have varied offerings as well.

This gives me hope...
Baha'i is the first religion to so greatly focus on Unity as "watchword." To heal the Spirits the oneness of the faiths must be upraised. And they offer more to help to purify religion for a role in unity. We must use all tools of power for our world. Religion may be a vital one, having gained a foothold in the hearts of people through the ages. |
Baha'is believe that religion, historically the basis of our laws and civilizations, is a great tool of power, when put to its rightful, harmonizing purpose. For today, that purpose must be to galvanize, inspire, and steady the people for a cooperation previously thought impossible.
Unity is vital in moving to the next challenging level in the healing of our world.
The unity of the Baha'is is being worked on day by day, and their diversity is held dear and precious.
"Unity in diversity" is the watchword of the Baha'i.
I see much hope to be gleaned from a Faith that has opened its doors worldwide and proclaimed its methods, governance and community, "a model for study".*

Organized Religion, in spite of its many failings, has been Spirit's eternal Vessel and its historic strength. When nothing else stood for the gods, it kept the flame of century- old teachings alight as well as could be for that corrupt times.
The faiths must be healed of long- time abuses and it seems this good work is now in progress. Tremendous Power for Unity has been held and shown in the Faiths of history, and there is something to be learned in that. Perhaps we should not be so quick to abandon a broken system when there may be hope for transformation.. |

Could there be really be a religion that could help to heal and unify the world?

It has generated great enmity and countless sects, power plays and disagreements among its adherents.
The Prophet Baha'u'llah Himself criticized them for it just as Jesus rebuked the priests for perpetrating misconceptions and abuses in religion's name.The Baha'i writings clear up much on these abuses. Those teachings have upraised my thinking, and may form a powerful basis for a healing and healthy re-creation of our concept of "religion", reuniting it with Spirit for all time.
Baha'is believe a new Day has opened. A unique, independent religion, this diverse, worldwide Faith accepts, reveres and builds on the previous Great religions of the world; offers a working, workable, worldwide, administrative model of unity clearly akin to "one soul in many bodies", and demonstrates the powerful potential therein.
